In
most states, a motorhome is titled and registered by the RV year, not the
chassis year. Since chassis
years commonly differ from the RV year, and chassis features may vary from
model year to model year, it is important to know what year you own or are
buying. This information can be
critical when ordering replacement parts.
It
is also important to your RV’s resale value – be sure your RV is
registered by the RV year. You
don’t want to lose a year’s worth of depreciation just because an
inattentive clerk at the motor vehicle department uses the wrong VIN number.
