Indianhead Resort

This campground is located right off of Route 3A.  The Cape Cod Canal and bike path is four miles south, Plimouth Plantation twelve miles and Plymouth center is about 16 miles north.  There's the usual general store with candy, ice cream, groceries and camping supplies; propane.   The campground also has its own beach on Savory Pond with row boat and canoe rental, bait and tackle.  As you walk to the beach or leave the campground area, you pass one of this area's many cranberry bogs. There's a playground for the youngsters, horse shoe pit, volleyball and basketball court.  Campground closes for the season Columbus Day weekend.

Other Campgrounds in the area:

Pinewood Lake Campground is about 8 miles west of town along Route 44.  I've stayed here a number of times and like the campground; however, they don't accept pets.

Myles Standish State Forest has a number of camp sites available as well as other recreational facilities.

There's also a nice KOA campground on Route 44 about 24 miles west of Plymouth center.   This campground is open to the end of November in case you'd like to get down during the Thanksgiving time.

Thanksgiving is a relative term in the Plymouth area.  The local Native Americans have a T-shirt that reads:  "Thanks, but no thanks" regarding this holiday.
