wasn't able to take advantage of this until 2008.
This is a very large campground in central Connecticut,
about a half mile from Lake Pocotopaug (500 acre lake with passes
available). Other local attractions within a short driving
distance are: Essex Steam Train; Dinosaur State Park, Rocky Hill;
Peabody Museum; Gillette Castle; Goodspeed Opera House; Foxwood Casino;
Mohegan Sun Casino; Mystic Seaport; Mystic Aquarium; golf courses;
antique shops.
The campground itself features: horseshoes, basketball,
playscape, volleyball, softball, swimming, many planned activities over
a weekend, fishing, hiking, bingo, pool parties, cable TV, camp store,
recreation hall, mobile sanitation unit, 60-foot swimming pool, mini
golf. There are shady sites and open sites. Many have chosen
to season camp here.
Gustine's RV Sales and Service is located inside the
campground with three certified RV service technicians. They are
open 7 days a week during the camping season and feature a selection of
new and used travel trailers, park models, popups, fifth wheels,
light-weights, and expandables if you're shopping for a new rig.
