Campground facilities include:  20-30 Amp electric service, cable TV, water and sewer hookups, dumping station, public phones, dishwashing area, solar-heated swimming pool, coin operated laundry, fish bench, fishing pier just south of campground, convenience and gift store with Amoco gas, LP service, ice, beach and camping supplies.  One and two room camping cabins with air conditioning, charcoal grill, picnic table and outside water (campers provide their own bedding).  Located on Pamlico Sound within the Cape Hatteras National seashore.

I stayed here from Friday, June 21 to Sunday, June 23, 2002.  Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperative at all and we had rain for a portion of each day.  It had rained the prior three days and the sites were really soggy.  I did get a pretty dry one with a slight downhill incline from my site, but other sites had been rather badly flooded.  The campground has a good variety of sites:  whether shaded or right on the sound for a spectacular sunrise or sunset (when the weather was so inclined).   One negative note - when I arrived, it was raining and I was anxious to get a suitable site.  I checked in and forgot to ask if they had discounts for Good Sam or AAA.  Most campgrounds have something in the office stating this, or the person signing in will ask if you don't.  They didn't say anything.  When I was looking at my AAA campbook to see where I was going to stay in Manteo when sightseeing at Kill Devil Hill and Kitty Hawk, I noticed they were a Good Sam Park.  I checked the next day prior to my bike ride, and they said they do give discounts for both Good Sam and AAA, but you have to ask and it's not retroactive!

Good Sam Park.  Swimming pool, game room, laundromat, fish station, cable TV at the full hookup sites.  I was very impressed with this campground and the management.

Ocean fishing is very popular here of course, so some of the campgrounds have a fish cleaning area such as shown above.
Sign on the front of the motor home to the left was "Beats staying home"!

Nice campground and closest to Ocracoke ferry, but kind of expensive.  I had camped here probably 15 years ago with my tent and a canal or small waterway runs along the rear of the campground frequented by herons and pelicans.

Most of the larger campgrounds also offered cabins for rent.  This one had small cottages.  Not sure if you could rent the teepees as well.

Very reasonable rates for the area.  Located about 4 miles from the Wright Brothers Memorial.  They are open year round.

Primarily seasonal campers.  They didn't list rates in the tourist guide I picked up.  Neither this campground nor Colington Park are advertised in AAA.
