Annual Springfield, MA
Camping and Outdoor Show

This year, the 39th annual Springfield Camping and Outdoor Show was held February 16, 2001, through February 19, 2001.  It's usually held over the Presidential Holiday weekend in February, giving the show an extra day to run.  It's held at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA and is sponsored by the Springfield Chapter of NEFCA (New England Family Campers Association).

This year's show had more than 220 exhibitors and over 30 RV dealers.  Camping supplies, publications, and other camping and outdoor-related products and services were available.  Included were the latest in RVs, vans and accessories, travel trailers, tent trailers, motor homes, camping equipment, tents, and services such as repairs, rentals, and insurance.  Entertainment is held for the younger campers, including clowns, magic, animal and puppet shows.

I usually pick up a state camping brochure rather than individual campground literature.  These are great to keep in the motor home. Camperama (where I season camp in Vermont) was well represented by the owner's son Kyle and his new bride as of October 2000.  Mom is in Florida for the winter!

I love this guy's jacket.  He had just as many sewn on the back!

This was an intriguing camping rig.  There was a ladder to upper bunks on the interior and front porch for relaxing. Tenting and backpacking equipment was featured  by both Farr of Manchester, CT,  and Don Gleason of Northampton, MA
A drawing is held the last day of the show for prizes which included a 21-foot Yellowstone Travel Trailer, a pair of mountain bikes, and a canoe package.
